Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan Boost Power Ties with Joint Agreement

The Kyrgyz Energy Ministry has announced that Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan strengthened regional energy cooperation with the signing of a protocol on electricity supply.

The agreement covers the delivery of electricity to Kyrgyzstan until spring 2026, particularly during the autumn-winter period, and aims to ensure the efficient use and preservation of water resources in the Toktogul reservoir, The Caspian Post informs via Kyrgyz media.

The protocol also defines the conditions for electricity transit from Russia to Kyrgyzstan via Kazakhstan’s energy system, and from Turkmenistan to Kyrgyzstan through Uzbekistan’s grid, facilitating smoother regional energy flows.

Additionally, a bilateral agreement on electricity supply between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan was signed during the meeting, further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the energy sector and promoting regional energy stability.
