The Kazakhstan Open 2025 is set to attract a remarkable turnout with over 750 taekwondo athletes from around the world registered to compete.
The event is scheduled to take place in Astana, Kazakhstan’s capital, from August 14 to 16, The Caspian Post reports per Kazakh media.
The Taekwondo Federation has confirmed that over 750 athletes will compete in the event, representing a broad spectrum of countries including Afghanistan, Armenia, Canada, France, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Oman, Luxembourg, Morocco, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, China, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates, the US, and several neutral-status participants.
Medals will be contested across junior, youth, and senior categories, with the tournament adhering to the latest international rules.
In a first for Kazakhstan, the competition will implement the advanced KPNP K-2 electronic scoring system, featuring cutting-edge electronic gloves designed to improve strike detection and scoring accuracy.
The event will be held at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace, a prominent venue for martial arts in the country.
