A large fire has erupted at a cardboard factory warehouse near Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The blaze has been successfully contained as firefighting teams continue working at the scene under an elevated emergency response level, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Preliminary information from the facility’s administration suggests that no people were inside the building at the time of the fire.

Emergency services are continuing operations to fully extinguish the flames and prevent further spread.
