Kazakhstan has showcased its growing tourism appeal in Yerevan during a dedicated presentation held alongside a roundtable on advancing Kazakhstan-Armenia cooperation in the tourism sector.
Organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Armenia with the support of the Armenian Tourism Federation, the event aimed to promote Kazakhstan’s diverse travel opportunities, increase awareness among Armenian travelers, expand tourist exchanges, and deepen cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Participants exchanged ideas and practical proposals to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The roundtable brought together Bolat Imanbayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Armenia; Lusine Gevorkyan, Chair of Armenia’s Tourism Committee; and Mehak Apresyan, President of the Armenian Tourism Federation. Joining via videoconference were Nurtas Karipbayev, Chairman of Kazakhstan’s Tourism Industry Committee, Ainur Zhumatayeva, Director of Marketing and International Markets at Kazakh Tourism, as well as representatives of Armenia’s tourism business community.
Speaking at the event, Imanbayev emphasized that Kazakhstan offers a wide range of destinations, spanning cultural and ecological tourism, as well as business, sports, and medical travel. He highlighted the rapid development of tourism infrastructure, the emergence of new tourism clusters, and steady improvements in service quality in recent years.
The ambassador also expressed confidence that tourism cooperation could grow significantly with better transport and logistics links, noting ongoing efforts to resume direct flights between Yerevan and Astana.
The sides agreed to further cooperation through familiarization trips for tour operators and media representatives, allowing them to gain firsthand experience and present Kazakhstan’s tourism potential more objectively and attractively.
Concluding the roundtable, participants voiced confidence that closer tourism dialogue would give new momentum to Kazakhstan-Armenia partnership and further expand humanitarian ties. As reported earlier, direct flights between Kazakhstan and Armenia may reopen in the future.
