Kazakhstan Prepares for Major Central Asian Leaders Summit

Leaders from Central Asian countries are set to gather in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 22 for a high-level summit.

The meeting will host the heads of state of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan under the framework of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS), The Caspian Post reports via the Kazakh government.

According to officials, the summit of IFAS heads is held at least once every three years. The last meeting took place in 2023 in Dushanbe, where the president of Kazakhstan was elected chair of the Fund for a three-year term.
