In the first half of 2025, Kazakhstan emerged as one of the top three international destinations for Russian travelers.
The announcement came during a working meeting in Astana between Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov and Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Tourism exchanges between the two nations continue to grow. In the first six months of 2025, Russians made over 1.23 million trips to Kazakhstan, while Kazakh citizens traveled to Russia more than 1.03 million times.
In 2024, the full-year tourist flow from Russia to Kazakhstan exceeded 2.6 million trips, with Kazakh travelers making over 2.2 million visits to Russia.
Kazakh Tourism noted that these figures reflect Kazakhstan’s increasing attractiveness as a travel destination.
The country has also expanded its tourism offerings with new attractions, including the recently opened Bolektau eco-trail in Burabay National Park.
