Kazakhstan Ready to Share Digital ID Verification Expertise with Azerbaijan

Deputy Chairwoman of the Kazakhstan Payment Organizations Association Yuliya Salekhova has said that Kazakhstan is ready to collaborate with Azerbaijan on implementing the “Know Your Customer” electronic system (eKYC).

Salekhova made these remarks during the Baku Fintech Forum 2025, The Caspian Post informs via local media.

She emphasized the importance of expanding the eKYC system beyond banks to include payment service providers. Salekhova also expressed regret that the system is not yet fully operational in Kazakhstan but expressed optimism about future cooperation between the two countries.

“I would like not only banks but also payment service providers to join the eKYC system. It’s a bit disappointing that the system is not yet fully operational in Kazakhstan. However, I hope that in the future we can exchange experience with Azerbaijan,” Salekhova said.

eKYC is an advanced digital identity verification process that enables companies to remotely and securely authenticate their clients. As opposed to traditional KYC methods requiring physical presence and manual document checks, eKYC utilizes technologies such as facial recognition, document verification, and biometric authentication to streamline compliance with regulatory standards.
