Kazakhstan Registers Nearly 250,000 Births in First Nine Months of 2025

Kazakhstan recorded 249,300 births between January and September 2025, according to new data from the Bureau of National Statistics.

The total includes 128,400 boys and 120,900 girls born across the country during the nine-month period, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

Of the overall figure, 152.2 thousand births occurred in urban areas, while 97.1 thousand were registered in rural regions.

The highest birth rates per 1,000 people were documented in Kazakhstan’s southern and western regions, which continue to lead the country in population growth.

  • Turkistan region - 22.26 children

  • Shymkent - 21.46 children

  • Mangistau region - 21.26 children

This year, the most popular boys’ names were Mukhammed, Alikhan, and Aisultan, while the top names for girls were Aylin, Asylym, and Medina.
