Uzbekistan’s Samarkand Leads Baby Boom as Twin Births Rise Nationwide

Uzbekistan has recorded a notable rise in twin births during the first half of 2025, with the Samarkand region topping the list at 1,197 cases.

Fergana followed closely with 1,172 twin births, while Kashkadarya ranked third with 1,054 cases. These regions showed the highest concentration of twin deliveries across the country, The Caspian Post reports via Uzbek media.

Several other areas also reported significant numbers:

Andijan region - 883 cases

Surkhandarya region - 856 cases

Namangan region - 778 cases

Khorezm region - 544 cases

Bukhara region - 486 cases

Jizzakh region - 410 cases

Syrdarya region - 258 cases

Navoi region - 233 cases

In Tashkent city, 730 twins were born, while the Tashkent region registered 686 cases.

The Republic of Karakalpakstan recorded 451 twin births, reflecting a consistent trend across both urban and rural areas.
