Kazakhstan's Almaty Bans Foreign Couriers from Delivery Services

Kazakhstan's authorities have announced new rules for delivery services, prohibiting the hiring of foreign workers in Almaty.

The decision came during a police department meeting with major delivery service aggregators, emphasizing citizen safety as a top priority, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Police Chief Aydyn Kabduldinov highlighted the need for biometric ID verification of couriers, banning account sharing, and strict traffic rule compliance. Couriers have access to homes, personal data, and schedules, making security measures crucial.

The city prosecutor’s office also reviewed aggregator readiness for information sharing with authorities and the legality of hired workers. The move follows growing concerns over safety incidents involving delivery personnel in Almaty.
