Kazakhstan’s Astana Greets Artists from Five Nations for Silk Way Star Show

Almost all participants of the international vocal competition Silk Way Star have arrived in Kazakhstan’s capital Astana, including artists from Armenia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan.

The Kandis Group from South Korea was welcomed at the airport with traditional treats and music, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

In a statement, the group said it was a great honor to join such a large-scale project. Georgian contestant Avtandil Abeslamidze, speaking to reporters, expressed his admiration for Astana, noting it was not his first visit.

Malaysian singer-songwriter Yazmin Aziz is expected to arrive later. Kazakhstan will be represented at the competition by singer ALEM (Batyrkhan Malikov).

Filming of the show has already begun, with the grand final scheduled for November 22. The program will be broadcast on Jibek Joly/Silk Way TV and major television channels across participating countries.
