Kazakhstan's Astana Launches Tourist Transport Cards for Easy City Travel

Kazakhstan's capital Astana has introduced new transport cards designed specifically for tourists, making it easier for visitors to navigate the city’s public transport system from the moment they arrive.

The new tourist travel cards are now available for purchase at Astana International Airport and are aimed at providing a seamless travel experience across the capital’s bus network without the need for mobile apps or registration in digital services, The Caspian Post reports via Nur.kz.

The cards allow visitors to start exploring the city immediately after arrival. “Tourist cards make it convenient for guests to use public transport without installing additional applications or going through registration procedures. After purchasing a card at the airport, tourists can immediately begin their journey around the city,” the city administration noted.

Three types of travel cards are available, offering 5, 10, or 15 rides depending on the length of stay and travel needs.

The orange card covers 5 trips and costs 1,550 tenge

The blue card provides 10 trips for 2,110 tenge

The dark blue card includes 15 trips and costs 2,650 tenge

Payments for public transport are made via Avtobys payment terminals installed on city buses, with several payment options available for passengers.

In addition, tourists can use the Avtobys mobile application to plan routes, check schedules, view transfers, and choose the most efficient way to travel across the city.
