Kazakhstan's Data Center Valley Targets $3.1 Billion in Yearly Exports

Kazakhstan's Data Center Valley project is expected to generate approximately $3.1 billion in annual export revenue, the Kazakh prime minister's press service said on Friday.

Total investment in the country over the data centers' estimated 20-year operational lifespan is projected to reach $115 billion, according to the statement, which cited estimates by international consulting firm KPMG, The Caspian Post reports, citing Xinhua.

The project's first phase envisages building three data centers with a combined capacity of 304 megawatts. The facilities, with capacities of 68 MW, 164 MW and 72 MW, respectively, are scheduled to begin operations in the second, third and fourth quarters of 2027.

Under the second phase, preliminary agreements have been signed with companies to deploy 480 MW of computing capacity, with the potential to increase this to 620 MW.

Negotiations are also underway with other companies to develop an additional 240 MW of capacity, potentially expandable to 420 MW.

The project's total capacity is expected to reach 1 gigawatt by 2029, the statement said.

With planned investment of $10 billion, the Data Center Valley project aims to establish a large-scale computing cluster equipped with 100,000 graphics processing units (GPUs), according to an earlier government announcement.
