Kazakhstan's Ulytau to Launch Flights to Balkhash, Turkistan

Governor of Kazakhstan’s Ulytau region, Dastan Ryspekov, has announced plans to start regular flights from Zhezkazgan to Balkhash and Turkistan in 2026, expanding the region’s air connectivity.

Since the region’s establishment, three new intercity bus routes and one air route to Shymkent have been added. Currently, Zhezkazgan offers flights to Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, and Karaganda, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

The regional transport system has 29 bus routes, and this year, new buses worth 721 million tenge upgraded the fleet by 42 per cent.

Infrastructure developments also include the start of a new 316-kilometer railway line between Kyzylzhar and Moiynty, while the region plans a pool of 25 investment projects to boost local growth.
