Kazakhstan to Build Burj Khalifa-Inspired Twin Towers by 2029

A striking twin-tower complex, designed by the architects behind Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, is set to rise in Alatau, southern Kazakhstan, by 2029.

Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2026, with China State Construction Engineering Corporation handling the build, while the iconic American firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill develops the architectural concept, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

Spanning 276,800 sq. m., the mixed-use complex will feature offices, apartments, a hotel, and retail spaces. Alatau City is planned to be the region’s first fully digital city, where residents will even be able to pay for goods and services using cryptocurrency.
