Kazakhstan to Require Electronic Entry Permits for Visa-Free Travelers

Kazakhstan will introduce an electronic entry permit for citizens of countries that enjoy visa-free travel to the country, including Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Poland and the US.

The new rules for the entry and stay of foreign nationals have been approved by the Kazakh government, according to Zakon.kz.

The system will be introduced gradually at airports and land border checkpoints starting November 1. During the initial phase, travelers without the electronic permit will still be allowed to enter, but they will be notified of the upcoming requirement.

From July 1, 2027, travelers without the required electronic authorization will be denied entry to Kazakhstan.

The change will affect visa-free travelers from multiple countries, so visitors planning trips to Kazakhstan should check the entry requirements before departure.
