Kazakhstan-Türkiye Air Connectivity Expands With New Route

Travelers will soon have a new direct air link between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, with Turkish airline SunExpress set to launch regular flights between Almaty and Izmir on July 31.

The new route will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, using Boeing 737 aircraft, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport reports.

The ministry said the launch is part of Kazakhstan’s broader efforts to expand its international air network and increase flight frequencies on existing routes.

The new Almaty-Izmir service is expected to strengthen ties between Kazakhstan and Türkiye by supporting trade, business, investment, tourism and cultural exchanges.

The route will also give passengers a more convenient direct connection between Kazakhstan’s largest city and Türkiye’s Aegean coastal hub.
