Law enforcement agencies from Kazakhstan, Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan have dismantled a transnational organized crime group in a coordinated international operation that led to multiple arrests across the region.

The large-scale operation targeted suspects linked to a series of serious crimes. Cooperation between the four countries intensified following official visits by Kazakhstan's interior minister to Georgia, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan, assisting to strengthen cross-border law enforcement coordination, The Caspian Post reports via Polisia.kz.

As part of the operation, two suspects believed to have carried out the murder of a Kazakh citizen were arrested in Istanbul. Investigators also identified the organizer and the individual accused of ordering the killing, both of whom have been placed on the international wanted list.

In Almaty, police officers detained a suspected hitman believed to be connected to the criminal network and accused of attempting to murder a city resident in August 2025. Police also arrested a separate group involved in a series of armed attacks targeting business owners.

Meanwhile, police officers in Georgia apprehended additional suspects believed to be connected to the activities of the organized crime group.

Kazakhstan's Interior Ministry said the investigation remains ongoing as police officers continue working with international partners to identify other members of the criminal network and uncover the full scope of its activities.
