Kazakhstan, Türkiye Power Up Partnership with New Oil and Gas Pact

As part of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s official visit to Ankara, Kazakhstan and Türkiye have taken a major step toward strengthening bilateral energy cooperation.

A strategic agreement was signed between Kazakhstan’s national oil and gas company, KazMunayGas (KMG), and Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazakh media.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of both delegations, with KMG Chairman Askhat Khassenov and TPAO Chairman and General Manager Ahmet Türkoğlu formalizing the partnership.

Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will jointly engage in geological exploration and hydrocarbon extraction within Kazakhstan. The deal also provides for:

Comprehensive geological surveys of promising fields

Joint development of active oil and gas deposits

Collaboration in oilfield services
