Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates have discussed further strengthening their strategic partnership during a series of high-level meetings in Abu Dhabi.
As part of a working visit to the UAE, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Issagaliyev held talks with UAE Deputy Foreign Minister Omar Obaid Alhesan Al Shamsi and Assistant Foreign Minister for International Development and Organizations Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, The Caspian Post reports, citing the Kazakh Foreign Ministry.
The discussions focused on deepening political dialogue, expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, and further developing consular ties. The sides noted the positive momentum in investment cooperation, with the UAE ranking among the five largest foreign investors in Kazakhstan.
Both sides reaffirmed their interest in maintaining active dialogue between their foreign ministries and implementing agreements reached at the highest and high levels.
The Kazakh delegation also briefed the Emirati side on President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s initiative to establish an International Organization for Water Resources. The officials discussed preparations for the Third UN Conference on Water, scheduled to take place in Abu Dhabi on December 8-10 this year, highlighting its importance for strengthening international cooperation and developing practical solutions to water security challenges.
During discussions on consular cooperation, the Kazakh delegation was introduced to the UAE Foreign Ministry’s “Smart Mission” digital platform, which is designed to improve consular services and increase the efficiency of diplomatic missions abroad. The sides expressed interest in exchanging experience on the digitalization of consular services and adopting modern technological solutions.
The officials also discussed cooperation within international organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Parliamentary Union, as well as current regional and international issues.
Following the talks, Kazakhstan and the UAE reaffirmed their commitment to close cooperation and to further strengthening their strategic partnership through practical initiatives.
