President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly in New York to discuss bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on economic and humanitarian issues.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining constructive engagement in these areas, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
President Zelenskyy briefed his Kazakh counterpart on the ongoing developments in Ukraine. In turn, President Tokayev expressed his concern over the humanitarian impact of the conflict and reiterated the importance of diplomacy in resolving international crises. He stressed that dialogue and negotiation must remain central to efforts aimed at achieving peace.
Earlier in the day, President Tokayev also met with President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, continuing a series of bilateral engagements during his participation in the high-level UNGA session.
