Over 5,000 international visitors flocked to Kazakhstan's Almaty city between September 26 and 29 to attend the eagerly awaited Kairat vs. Real Madrid match.

The city’s tourism department noted that the majority of foreign guests arrived from China, India, Russia, Japan, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Czech Republic, CIS countries, and various European nations, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.

According to Mastercard data, the average spending by a foreign tourist in Almaty is estimated at around $1,500. This includes expenses on accommodation, dining, transportation, entertainment, and shopping. Tourism officials highlighted that this surge in visitors is a major boost for local small and medium-sized businesses, stimulates the service sector, and creates a positive multiplier effect on the city’s economy.

The high-profile match is set to kick off tonight at 9:45 PM at Almaty’s Central Stadium.

Earlier, reports confirmed the arrival of Real Madrid’s players, coaching staff, and support personnel at Almaty Airport. The team’s long journey covered approximately 6,340 kilometers and took nearly 13 hours, marking a significant logistical effort for the Spanish club.
