Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has arrived in Los Angeles to attend events marking the launch of the country’s first national satellite.

The satellite is scheduled to be placed into orbit using a SpaceX launch vehicle, according to president.kg.

Japarov was welcomed at Los Angeles International Airport by Rebecca Hunter, Director of Starlink Global Licensing and Market Activation.

The launch of Kyrgyzstan’s first satellite is scheduled for October 1 and is expected to be one of the key events of Japarov’s visit to the United States.

The mission marks a major step in Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to develop its space capabilities and establish a national presence in satellite technology.
