A threat of a terrorist attack targeting schoolchildren and kindergarten children has been reported in the village of Kazarman, Kyrgyzstan, with an eighth-grade pupil detained as a suspect.
According to the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security, the teenager allegedly fell under the influence of online extremist groups and published posts on social media about planned terrorist acts, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Law enforcement agencies said all necessary investigative actions are currently underway.
The security service reminded that criminal liability in Kyrgyzstan begins at the age of 14. Under national law, making threats to commit a terrorist act carries a penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
