Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamytkanov has announced that trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan reached $10 million in 2025.
Mamytkanov made these remarks at a meeting of the Committee on International Affairs of Parliament, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
During the session, lawmakers reviewed a progress report on the committee’s work over the past year and underscored the need to strengthen the protection of the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens in Azerbaijan and Georgia. Deputies also recommended expanding political dialogue, as well as trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
Mamytkanov said that Bishkek and Baku are taking steps to intensify the activities of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund, which is seen as a key mechanism for boosting bilateral economic ties.
At the meeting, MP Cholpon Esenamanova raised concerns voiced by Kyrgyz truck drivers, who complained about what they described as unfounded claims during transit through Azerbaijani territory. She urged the ambassador to pay special attention to the issue.
