Kyrgyz Parliament Reviews Cooperation with Azerbaijan, Georgia

Parliamentary hearings on strengthening political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation with Azerbaijan and Georgia have been held at the Jogorku Kenesh (the Kyrgyz parliament).

A key report was delivered by Maksat Mamytkanov, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan and Georgia. Lawmakers discussed a range of issues related to expanding bilateral engagement, with particular attention to political dialogue, economic cooperation, and cultural ties, The Caspian Post reports via the Kyrgyz parliament.

During the session, it was noted that Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover with Azerbaijan reached $10 million in 2025. Participants stressed the need to intensify the work of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund to unlock the full potential of economic cooperation.

The hearings also highlighted the importance of cultural and humanitarian interaction, which lawmakers described as a key instrument for strengthening interstate relations and advancing people-to-people diplomacy.

The discussions underscored Kyrgyzstan’s broader efforts to deepen engagement with partners in the South Caucasus through a balanced mix of political, economic, and cultural initiatives.
