Kyrgyz wrestler Nurzat Nurtaeva has brought glory to Kyrgyzstan, claiming the gold medal at the U23 World Wrestling Championships.
Competing in the 72 kg weight category, Nurtaeva triumphed over Jasmine Dolores Robinson of the United States in a thrilling final match, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
On her way to gold, the Kyrgyz champion defeated tough opponents from Germany, Russia, and Japan, showcasing exceptional strength and technique throughout the tournament.
Meanwhile, another Kyrgyz athlete, Kaiyrkul Sharshebaeva, is set to compete for bronze later today, facing an opponent from Türkiye.
