Mayor of Bishkek, Aibek Dzhunushaliev, has held talks with Liu Jiangping to strengthen cooperation and advance key investment projects between Kyrgyzstan and China.
The meeting focused on expanding collaboration in culture, economy, and business, with both sides highlighting the growing momentum in bilateral ties, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Since the start of the year, several joint initiatives have already been launched, including the hosting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Youth Delphic Games in the Kyrgyz capital.
A central topic of discussion was the implementation of major investment projects, particularly plans to build an eco-technological plant that will generate electricity by processing municipal solid waste-an initiative aimed at promoting sustainable urban development.
Mayor Dzhunushaliev reaffirmed the city’s readiness to support projects that enhance infrastructure, environmental sustainability, and mutually beneficial partnerships.
Ambassador Liu Jiangping, in turn, noted Bishkek’s steady growth in recent years, highlighting its transformation into a more modern city and its rising importance as a key economic and cultural center in Kyrgyzstan.
