Kyrgyzstan’s national freestyle wrestling team has won six medals at the ongoing Turkic Universiade in the Issyk-Kul region.
The tournament featured six sets of medals in Olympic weight categories, with athletes from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan competing for top honors, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
Kyrgyz wrestlers delivered an impressive performance, taking two golds, three silvers, and one bronze. Highlights included:
Muhammadrasul Saliev - silver, up to 57 kg
Bilol Sharip uulu - gold, up to 65 kg
Baitemir Tuloberdiev - gold, up to 74 kg
Elnur Akybaev - silver, up to 86 kg
Aytenir Maksatov - bronze, up to 97 kg
Zhargalan Budazhapov - silver, up to 125 kg
