Kyrgyzstan, Hungary Exchange Experience in Electoral Process

Kyrgyzstan’s Deputy Chairperson of the Central Commission for Elections and Referendums, Aidana Zhupueva, has met with Hungary’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Kyrgyzstan, Sándor Dorógi, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in electoral processes and exchanging best practices between their election authorities.

Dorógi highlighted Hungary’s strong interest in Kyrgyzstan’s experience with advanced digital technologies in elections, as well as its approach to introducing and implementing gender quotas, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The meeting also covered practical issues related to organizing a polling station for Hungarian citizens in Kyrgyzstan, particularly at the Hungarian Embassy in Bishkek, ahead of Hungary’s parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12, 2026.

In addition, the Hungarian ambassador invited representatives of Kyrgyzstan’s Central Election Commission to take part in international observation of the upcoming parliamentary vote. Zhupueva expressed readiness to actively participate in election observation and noted the importance of further strengthening constructive cooperation between the electoral bodies of Kyrgyzstan and Hungary.
