Kyrgyzstan Imposes Temporary Ban on Mineral Fertilizer Exports

Kyrgyzstan has enacted a temporary ban on the export of mineral fertilizers outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

The Ministry of Agriculture informed that in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, the ban was introduced from March 3, 2025 for a period of six months and applies to all types of mineral fertilizers, with the exception of international transit and humanitarian aid provided by decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.

At the same time, if the quality of mineral fertilizers does not meet the established requirements, then this ban does not apply to their return export.

It is worth noting that the introduction of a ban on the export of mineral fertilizers is a strategically important decision aimed at protecting national interests, supporting domestic agriculture and ensuring the stable development of the agro-industrial complex.
