Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, setting an ambitious goal to boost trade turnover to $5 billion.
First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Daniar Amangeldiev, has met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Kyrgyzstan, Mekin Mustafa Kemal Okem, to discuss key areas for advancing bilateral relations between the two nations, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyz media.
During the meeting, Amangeldiev emphasized the strong and steadily growing partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye, noting that the countries enjoy a high level of cooperation across multiple sectors.
He stressed the importance of implementing agreements reached during previous high-level meetings, particularly between the presidents of the two countries.
The Kyrgyz official outlined the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to $5 billion and underscored the need to intensify efforts toward that objective. He also highlighted the importance of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation as a key mechanism for deepening economic ties, proposing to begin preparations for the Commission’s next session scheduled for this fall.
Ambassador Okem welcomed the proposal and reiterated Türkiye’s readiness to actively implement bilateral agreements. He expressed particular interest in strengthening collaboration in trade, investment, and various other sectors. The ambassador voiced confidence that the upcoming Intergovernmental Commission meeting in Bishkek would provide new impetus to the strategic partnership.
The two sides reviewed several promising areas for further collaboration and expressed shared commitment to deepening the long-standing friendship between Kyrgyzstan and Türkiye through practical cooperation and mutual understanding.
