Kyrgyzstan-Mongolia Trade Hits New Highs in Early 2025

The Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy and Commerce has announced that trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia rose by 15.9 percent in the first half of 2025, reaching $3.13 million compared to the same period last year.

This growth was largely fueled by a 36.3 percent increase in exports, which totaled $2.8 million, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Conversely, imports from Mongolia to Kyrgyzstan declined by more than half, amounting to approximately $0.3 million.

Key Kyrgyz exports to Mongolia included fruits, nuts, confectionery and pasta products, aluminum goods, scrap and waste from electrical equipment, and oil products such as aviation fuel.

Imports from Mongolia primarily consisted of motor vehicles and parts, supplemented by smaller volumes of dairy products, potatoes, tea, fruit juices, sweets, and cosmetics.

The bilateral trade relationship has seen significant expansion over recent years, with total trade increasing 24-fold from 2020 to 2024, reflecting strengthening economic cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
