Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has proposed establishing a joint medical center with South Korea in Kyrgyzstan and exploring ways to simplify the visa regime between the two countries.

Japarov raised the proposals during talks with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung in Seoul on September 16, as part of his official visit to South Korea, according to 24.kg.

The two leaders also discussed expanding Kyrgyz exports to the South Korean market, cooperation between investment agencies and the implementation of infrastructure projects.

Japarov described South Korea as one of Kyrgyzstan’s priority partners in the Asia-Pacific region. Lee, meanwhile, highlighted the development of bilateral relations since diplomatic ties were established in 1992 and congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.

Japarov also invited Lee to visit Kyrgyzstan for an official visit in 2027, when the two countries will mark the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations.
