Kyrgyzstan’s Tourism Sector Booms in First Half of 2025

Chairman of the Kyrgyz Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev has said that Kyrgyzstan’s tourism sector continued expanding in the first half of 2025.

Kasymaliev made these remarks during a Cabinet meeting, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

The sector’s gross value added surpassed 30.1 billion soms ($344.202 million), reflecting a 29 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

Investment in fixed capital within the tourism industry also surged 2.7 times, reaching 11.3 billion soms ($129.218 million), up from 4.2 billion soms ($48.028 million) in the first half of 2024.

Kasymaliev highlighted Kyrgyzstan’s growing international recognition, noting that the country was included in the Financial Times’ list of the world’s top 50 tourist destinations in 2025 and received several other global awards.

With the summer season now concluded, the Cabinet Chairman emphasized the importance of preparing for the upcoming winter tourism season to maintain the sector’s momentum.
