Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Ministry says it is assisting with the repatriation of the body of Aigerim T., a Kyrgyz woman who was brutally murdered in Moscow, as Russian investigators continue probing the shocking case.
According to the ministry, the Kyrgyz Embassy in Russia is working with the victim’s relatives to return her body to Kyrgyzstan, The Caspian Post reports via 24.kg.
The ministry also confirmed that Russian authorities have detained a suspect - a Kyrgyz citizen, 31, - in connection with the murder investigation launched by Russia’s Investigative Committee.
Investigators identified the victim as T.A., a 33-year-old Kyrgyz national who worked as a cleaner at one of Moscow’s hospitals.
The woman had reportedly been renting a two-room apartment on Lyublinskaya Street with two fellow Kyrgyz nationals. She stopped responding to messages on May 8.
Security cameras captured Aigerim entering her apartment building at around 9 p.m. that evening, after which she disappeared without a trace.
Her relatives later discovered her body with signs of violent death hidden inside a sofa in the rented apartment.
