Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov sent a welcoming message to participants of the 7th Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum, which was read by Azamat Kadyraliev, Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration.
In his address, Japarov underscored that the Kyrgyz economy is growing at record rates compared to other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states, averaging 9 per cent annual growth since 2022, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
He stressed the importance of technological independence, digital data protection, and the development of national IT infrastructure.
The president highlighted a significant increase in trade with Russia, which reached $3.9 billion, with Kyrgyz exports up 40 per cent. Russian investments in Kyrgyzstan totaled $280 million, while the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund financed nearly 4,000 projects worth $900 million.
President Japarov described the forum in Cholpon-Ata as vital for strengthening bilateral business ties. He also noted that the event marks the first off-site session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum held in Issyk-Kul.
Concluding his message, the president wished all participants constructive dialogue and tangible outcomes from the forum.
