Satellite Internet Starlink Coming to Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan is preparing to roll out satellite internet as SpaceX’s Starlink moves closer to launch in the country.

The announcement follows a meeting in Washington, D.C. between Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev and SpaceX Senior Director Ryan Goodnight, where both sides confirmed that all legal and regulatory requirements have been completed, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.

Officials say the legislative framework is now fully in place, with permits secured and agreements signed-clearing the way for a pilot launch of the service in the near future.

The initiative is expected to be a game changer for Kyrgyzstan, particularly in hard-to-reach mountainous regions where traditional internet infrastructure remains limited.

At the same time, the government stressed that the market will remain open to other satellite operators willing to comply with national telecommunications standards, signaling a competitive and innovation-friendly approach.
