The Abdylas Maldybaev Kyrgyz National Opera and Ballet Theater is set to host Urban Night Fest Bishkek 2025, a vibrant gathering spotlighting sustainable development, modern technology, and the creative economy.
Organized by IDEA Central Asia with the support of the US Diplomatic Mission to Kazakhstan, the event is part of the broader Urban Festivals caravan traveling across Central Asia under the Go Viral initiative, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
The one-day festival, open to the public with free entry upon registration, aims to bring together young people, entrepreneurs, and civic activists for a day of learning, inspiration, and entertainment.
The festival begins at 12:00 p.m. (GMT+6) with an Urban Quest, an interactive exploration of Bishkek's urban spaces, encouraging participants to engage with themes such as urbanism, inclusive design, and cultural heritage. The main program commences at 2:00 p.m. inside the theater.
The venue will feature a mix of live performances, interactive exhibits, and technology showcases, including VR stations, photo zones, a creative fair, and innovation hubs. The entertainment lineup includes performances by artists such as Akkyz, Ramazan, Azami, Ruslan Aidar, Aizhamal Bekten (Zhama), Aiyma Aiylchieva, and DJ Aibek. Renowned filmmaker and Zamandas podcast host Kanat Beisekeyev will headline the event.
An official opening ceremony will take place in the Malachite Hall, with representatives from the Kyrgyz Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy, the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, the US Consulate in Almaty, IDEA Central Asia, and MoveGreen delivering welcome remarks.
The program also includes panel discussions on topics such as transport and mobility, sustainable urban planning, green technologies, and the future of the creative economy. Guests can engage with art spaces, handcraft workshops, and an interactive map of Bishkek developed by IDEA Central Asia.
Educational opportunities will be provided through sessions conducted by the Peace Corps and EducationUSA, covering topics like resume writing, interview skills, personal statements, and careers in IT and startups.
The day will conclude with a DJ set, a quiz with prizes, and informal networking, creating a festive yet thought-provoking atmosphere.
Urban Night Fest Bishkek 2025 is positioned as a platform for civic dialogue, creativity, and regional collaboration, highlighting Bishkek’s growing role in Central Asia’s innovation landscape.
