Kyrgyzstan, Georgia Deepen Bilateral Partnership

Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev met in Bishkek with his Georgian counterpart Maka Botchorishvili, who arrived in the Kyrgyz capital as part of the official visit of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current state of Kyrgyz-Georgian relations and discussed prospects for expanding cooperation, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Ministry.

Both ministers emphasized the importance of maintaining active political dialogue and strengthening bilateral ties.

Special attention was given to the outcomes of the second meeting of the Kyrgyz-Georgian Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, which took place earlier the same day in Bishkek.

The officials held detailed discussions on opportunities to deepen cooperation in trade, transport, tourism and digitalization, while also exchanging views on regional and international developments.

Botchorishvili congratulated Kyrgyzstan on its election as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for the 2027-2028 term. She also expressed interest in learning from Kyrgyzstan’s experience in conducting the campaign that led to its successful election.

Kulubaev, in turn, invited the Georgian side to take part in the Second Global Mountain Summit, scheduled to be held in October 2027.

At the conclusion of the talks, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding Kyrgyz-Georgian cooperation and maintaining close engagement through regular dialogue at all levels.
