Official: Russian Strikes Injure 49 in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia during One Day

Head of Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov has announced that the number of people wounded in a missile strike on the city of Zaporizhzhia has climbed to 49, following a day of relentless assaults by Russian forces across the region.

“Forty-nine people were injured as a result of enemy attacks on Zaporizhzhia. In total, Russia carried out 696 strikes across 17 settlements in the region over the past 24 hours,” Fedorov said, The Caspian Post reports via Ukrainian media.

He confirmed that two missile strikes were launched on the city itself.

In a coordinated offensive, Russian forces conducted:

10 airstrikes targeting Zaliznychne, Novoselivka, Uspenivka, and Mala Tokmachka

496 drone attacks (mainly FPV drones) on settlements such as Novomykolaivka, Balabyne, Komyshuvakha, Chervonodniprovka, Prymorske, Plavni, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Zelene, and Charivne

8 MLRS strikes against Zaporizhzhia and Poltavka

180 artillery bombardments across Chervonodniprovka, Plavni, Huliaipole, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, and Charivne

Local authorities logged 396 damage reports affecting homes, vehicles, and public infrastructure.

Earlier reports had noted that the recent shelling with MLRS struck Zaporizhzhia’s Khortytskyi district, injuring four people, followed by two missile hits in the Shevchenkivskyi district - initially bringing the casualty count to 42. That figure was later revised upward to 49.
