Oman and Türkiye Sign Strategic Agreements During Presidential State Visit

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Türkiye attended the signing ceremony of a joint declaration and communique, along with six agreements and eight memoranda of understanding (MoUs) at Al Alam Palace today.

This took place within the context of the Turkish President’s state-visit to the Sultanate of Oman, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.

The signings included the establishment of the Omani-Turkish Coordinating Council. Furthermore, capital participation agreements were signed between Amber Limited (a special purpose company owned by Oman Investment Authority and the Turkish OYAK Fund) and the Turkish OYAK Fund, as well as a capital participation agreement between the Uzbek-Omani Company (Uzbek Oman) and the Turkish OYAK Fund.

Additional agreements covered cooperation between Oman Food Investment Holding Company (Nitaj) and the OYAK Holding for Food and Agriculture, and a cooperation agreement between Oman Data Company and the Turkish information technology firm “Inovance”. Cooperation agreement was also signed between the Government of the Sultanate of Oman and the Government of the Republic of Turkiye regarding the allocation of land for the Turkish Maarif Foundation to establish an educational institution, and the partnership between Sinan Advanced Industries and the Turkish company ASELSAN.

Meanwhile, the MoUs covered military collaboration and defense industries, media and communications, technology, innovation and strategic cooperation between Oman Investment Authority and Türkiye Wealth Fund. They also covered cooperation in fields of mining and rare minerals.
