Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Russian President Vladimir Putin met Thursday evening on the sidelines of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) summit and the Caspian Sea environmental summit in Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed progress in bilateral relations and discussed ways to strengthen economic and strategic cooperation in key areas, including energy, agriculture, transportation and trade, The Caspian Post reports, citing IRNA.
The sides stressed the need to speed up the finalization and implementation of joint projects. They also reaffirmed their determination to broaden comprehensive cooperation in a way that serves the national interests of both countries and contributes to regional stability.
Pezeshkian traveled to Turkmenistan to participate in and address the CIS summit and the Caspian Sea environmental summit.
