Russian Strikes Knock Out Power to Tens of Thousands in Ukraine's Chernihiv

Russian forces targeted multiple energy and infrastructure facilities across three districts in Ukraine's Chernihiv, causing widespread power outages affecting tens of thousands of residents.

Viacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported that nine settlements within the Koriukivka, Nizhyn, and Pryluky districts were struck during the attacks, The Caspian Post reports via Chaus' message on Telegram.

Several impact sites caught fire but were quickly extinguished by firefighters.

In addition to damage to energy infrastructure, the Nizhyn district experienced another strike on its railway system, while an agricultural enterprise in the Pryluky district was also targeted.

Emergency crews are working urgently to restore electricity and repair the damaged infrastructure. The Chernihiv regional emergency service released video footage highlighting the extent of the destruction caused by these attacks.
