WUF13 Showcases Impact of Digital Technologies on Housing Sector

At WUF13, the focus of discussions was on creating a sustainable, environmentally friendly housing sector and exploring how digital technologies can support its development.

Leila Guici, Senior Advocacy Manager of the ClimateTech and Digital Utilities at GSMA, addressed the closing session of the Assemblies held as part of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), The Caspian Post reports, citing AZERTAC.

She welcomed the fact that digital technologies were discussed across all panels, saying they can be applied from construction materials to energy, water, and waste management.

“Digitalization is already here,” she underlined.

Leila Guici emphasized that the main issue is not the absence of a business model, but rather its assessment within an incorrect budget framework. She also underlined the importance of public-private partnerships, stressing that the private sector should be regarded as a key driver of affordable housing policies and engaged in decision-making from an early stage.
