A serious road accident has been reported in Türkiye after a passenger bus overturned on the Istanbul-Izmir highway, leaving dozens injured and triggering a large emergency response.

The bus was carrying around 40 passengers when it overturned, injuring 25 people in the crash, The Caspian Post reports via TRT Haber.

Preliminary reports suggest the driver lost control of the vehicle, though the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Emergency teams, including gendarmerie units, firefighters, police officers, and medical crews, were quickly dispatched to the scene to assist the injured and secure the area.
