Caspian Littoral Regions Agree on Enhanced Cooperation at Rasht Meeting

A meeting aimed at enhancing cooperation among the Caspian littoral states was held in Rasht, Gilan province, Iran.

Official delegations from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Russia participated in the event, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.

The issues of fostering cooperation between the littoral states in the fields of trade, industry, transport and logistics, agriculture, investment and ecology were discussed during the plenary sessions. The event was attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as officials from the country’s other public authorities.

The Azerbaijani delegation was represented by Head of the Lankaran District Executive Authority Taleh Garashov and the Head of the Neftchala District Executive Authority Mirhasan Seyidov.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a Communiqué of the heads of the regions of Caspian littoral states.
