A pet cat named Mucize helped stop an attempted apartment burglary in Türkiye's Istanbul after confronting four women who tried to break into his family’s home.

The incident took place on September 24 in the Küçükçekmece district. The suspects had reportedly burglarized another apartment before targeting the home where Mucize has lived with his family for eight years, according to Haber7.

When the women forced open the door, Mucize rushed toward the entrance and began attacking them with his paws.

According to his owner, the women spent around 45 minutes trying to get inside. They reportedly put on gloves and even attempted to push the cat away with their feet, but Mucize refused to back down.

Eventually, the would-be burglars abandoned their attempt and left the building.

“I am very grateful to him. He really protected our home,” the cat’s owner said.
