An aircraft operated by Iranian carrier Caspian Airlines was detained at Türkiye's Istanbul Airport before it could depart for Iran, with passengers removed from the plane.

The aircraft, registered as EP-KPB, was reportedly seized over an outstanding debt of approximately €3 million owed by the airline.

Lawyers representing the creditor company and court enforcement officers intervened at the airport to prevent the aircraft from leaving Istanbul, according to euronews.

As part of ongoing legal proceedings, a court order was issued to seize the aircraft. The scheduled flight to Iran was subsequently canceled, and passengers were asked to leave the plane.
