The death toll has risen after a Russian strike hit a residential apartment building in Ukraine's capital Kyiv, as rescue teams continue searching through the rubble and recovering victims from the damaged site.
The number of casualties increased after emergency workers pulled more bodies from the collapsed sections of the building, which was struck during a wave of intensified aerial attacks on the capital, The Caspian Post reports via Irish News.
Dozens of people have also been reported injured, with nearby residential areas suffering damage as a result of the strike.
Search-and-rescue operations are ongoing, with emergency crews still clearing debris and working to locate residents who remain missing.
Ukraine remains under heightened alert as missile and drone attacks continue across multiple regions, keeping air defence and emergency services on constant standby.
